State Officer BiosMy name is Sera Choi, a junior at Ed W. Clark High School in the Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Applied Technology program. Ever since I had to write countless biographies in the beginning of my middle school years, I have had a deep aversion to writing about myself. However, my accomplishments of HOSA and the leadership qualities I gained through the organization is something I would boast about at any time. I took the role of historian for my HOSA chapter in the past year, although it was the first year HOSA was ever established at my school. Despite it being such a minor role in the board of officers, it was my first official leadership position to express what I had in store for the fresh, new club at school. The help I provided to the officer board and the members of the chapter was all worthwhile at the end because it was exactly what I wanted to do in my far, but hopeful, future. A career in medicine is something that stuck with me ever since I learned how to talk. It’s what drove me completely insane, but at the same time provided something to strive towards. I’ve told some doctors I contact that I want to become a neurologist. 98 percent of them replied with “No, you don’t.” Then there was that 2 percent that replied with “Please do, I love my job.” It’s that 2 percent that has gotten me to be absolutely certain that I want to aspire in health professions and more involved in the best organization for students with goals just like mine. As your State 1st Vice President, I promise to do my part in the success of Nevada HOSA. Not only do I plan to make a great addition to the 2010-2011 state officer team, but also do my utmost to help Nevada HOSA achieve goals that others would reply with “No, you don’t.”Miranda Terrell Hello. My name is Tazia Statucki. I am a student in the Dental Assisting program at Southwest Career and Technical Academy. I am friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. I study every day to achieve my dreams to be a Pediatric Dentist or a Pediatrician. I aspire to be valedictorian and am known by most for my brains and extracurricular activities. I am actively involved in speech and debate team, Journalism, and National Honor Society. Out of school, I participate in synchronized swimming and enjoy being in the water. I play an extremely active role in my own school’s HOSA chapter. It is the first year of Southwest and to have a chapter of over 60 members is phenomenal. I am so proud to be a part of HOSA and being a part of something bigger than myself. Now, as state secretary, I hope to make HOSA even bigger and better. I promise to fulfill all of my duties as Nevada HOSA Secretary. Thanks for electing me and have a great year! Jeannica Sacasas State Officer ResourcesState Office Alumni |
